08:05:2018 PASTOR’S REFLECTION
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him. On those who hope in His mercy to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19
God beholds all that He created with an eye of observation but in a special way, His eye of favour is upon those that fear Him. As the eye of the father looks upon his children and the bridegroom on his spouse, God’s eye is favourably upon his children.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Psalm 34:19-20.
The righteous refers to the individual who are in right standing with God. This is a description of the people of God whom God is well pleased. God is righteous and thus to be a righteous person is to have met Gods standards to be acceptable to Him. The righteous do face challenges of life, but in the midst of such, the power and influence of the grace of God is shown.
Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brethren, and they hated him even more. Genesis 37:5
Joseph was a man both loved and hated, His father loved him more than all his brothers, so they hated him. Joseph had to endure unpleasant circumstances. The reality of his life was he lived with ten brothers that hated him.
This hatred made his brothers to sell him into slavery. Against his will he was forced to live in a foreign country.
And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast lunging eyes on Joseph, and she said; Lie with me” but he refused and said to his master’s wife “Look my master does not know what is with me in the house and he has committed all that he has to my hand…… How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God” Genesis 39:7-9
Though Joseph was mistreated by his brothers yet he was immensely blessed by God. The Lord was with him in every situation.
In the process of time Portipher’s wife tried to seduce him but to Joseph’s credit, he never gave in to her. He realized that such action would be wicked in the sight of God. Joseph maintained his purity. Regardless of his age, he was a good model for all Christians.
His master’s wife spoke lies against Joseph to her husband.
Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison. Genesis 39:20
The confinement of the prison was not enough to make Joseph to give up on God. Joseph was able to see the big picture and remained steadfast in his work with God.
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you. Genesis 41:39-40
Joseph showed tremendous faith in the Lord and God honoured his faith. Lifting is of God and he desire all His children to experience a life of supernatural lifting in every area of life. God lifted Joseph from prison to become the prime minister in the palace.
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s and he has set the world upon them. 1 Samuel 2:8.
Welcome to AUGUST 2018, Our month of ALL-ROUND SUPERNATURAL LIFTING. 1 Samuel 2:8.
